The Great North Air Ambulance Service responded to twice as many incidents on the Island this summer compared with last year.
The service has given a breakdown of the number of incidents it responded to across the North of the British Isles.
It said 10 helicopter responses took place between Sunday, June 21, and Tuesday, September 22.
Over the same period last summer, the service attended five incidents.
