Douglas will be getting a giant sign, cube seats and regular produce markets this year.
When it sits on Wednesday, the council will consider a report from the Regeneration and Community Committee.
The committee agreed to underwrite 100,000 worth of spending while Local Economy Fund grants are awaited for the work.
It'll see a large, moveable sculpture of the word 'Douglas' - like a similar sculpture in Amsterdam - in the city centre, along with new Deacon cube seats and a series of regular monthly markets on Loch Promenade between April and September.
