A petition to prevent 'gazumping' on the Island has been signed by more than 1,000 people.
Richard Cassidy set up the petition after losing out on his new family home just over a week before he was set to move in.
He's calling for a change in the law to protect house buyers and sellers.
After posting his story on Facebook, Richard said he received an "overwhelming level of support" and was shocked at how many others had experienced the same thing.
