A petition against allowing gas exploration off the Island's coast has gathered hundreds of signatures in its first day online.
Peter Christian of Isle of Man Friends of the Earth set up the petition on change.org following news a local company would explore the seabed off Maughold for fossil fuels.
He says he's embarrassed and angry at the government's decision and is calling for a rethink.
Just 24 hours after its first signature on Tuesday, the petition had more than 500 backers.
