Local Cyclist Rehab Costs Thousands
The Manx road have set up a fund to help with the ongoing costs of local cyclist jonny Bellis.
The 21 year old from Douglas was in a crash on his scooter whilst training in Italy last September.
He began his career with the Manx road club was one of the Islands most successful sporting stars. After emerging from a coma he is now undergoing a rehabilitation programme.
Bill Ward is the chariman of the Manx road club told 3fm that cycling stars medical costs mount to about £10,000 each month. (audio above)
The critical care insurance runs out in the coming days so the fund has been set up to help out with fees that ensure he will make a full recovery.
Anybody can give donations to the Manx road clubs or the Isle of Man bank.
Or make cheques payable to 'Jonathan Bellis Fund' and post to 75 Silverburn Crescent, Ballasalla, Isle of Man. IM9 2DY
