The government says tax on fuel - set in line with the UK - is set to rise three times in the next 12 months.
Rushen MHK Michelle Haywood asked a question for written reply to Treasury Minister Chris Thomas about the rates.
In his response, he said Hydrocarbon Oil Duty is shared under a Customs and Excise Agreement with Westminster.
And he added fuel duty is set to rise by 1p a litre in September, another 2p per litre in December and then by another 2p next March.
