The Island’s branch of the group have held the meeting as they feel it’s critical the Isle of Man Government establishes a robust, sustainable energy strategy which will enable the Island to play its part in working towards a clean energy future.

The Isle of Man Friends of the Earth are hosting a presentation this week that will give the public the chance to find out more on the contentious issue of climate change, and particularly how it will affect people in the Isle of Man.

The guest speaker will be Head of Science, Policy & Research for the UK’s Friends of the Earth, Mike Childs; he’ll be speaking about the energy policies on neighbouring islands.

The Island’s branch of the group have held the meeting as they feel it’s critical the Isle of Man Government establishes a robust, sustainable energy strategy which will enable the Island to play its part in working towards a clean energy future.

The current aim of Government is to have 15% of its energy to be provided by renewable sources by 2015.

The presentation will be held at 7.30pm on Thursday at the lecture Theatre at Nobles Hospital.
