A fraud awareness leaflet has been sent to Island residents this week to raise awareness of the crime.
The Isle of Man Bankers Association, police and Victim Support have produced the pamphlet which was delivered on Monday as well as going out across social media.
The three organisations say more people are being affected by the crime as the use of technology becomes more accessible across the generations.
