Former Member of Legislative Council Juan Turner has been found not guilty of breaching data protection laws.
At Douglas Courthouse this morning, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes cleared Mr Turner and two companies – Carrick Creative and Island FM – of one charge each.
Mrs Hughes didn’t give reasons for her decision, but handed down a written judgement she said criticised some aspects of the prosecution.
After the decision was announced in court, Mr Turner’s advocate said the defence would apply for more than £29,000 in legal costs.
The case has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.
