Former Ballakermeen head teacher dies

The former head teacher of Ballakermeen High School has died.

Ian Masterton who was head teacher at the school from 1985 until 2001 passed away in Bury today.

A statement issued by the school said "Mr Masterton had established the school as a high school and was greatly respected”.

Following his retirement he moved to the North West of England where he acted as a school governor.
