Flybe Engine\'s Ash Tolerance Level Doubled
Flybe have been confirmed as the first airline in the UK to be able to fly within the newly approved safe levels of volcanic ash.
Over the past 2 days they had to cancel 380 flights across the UK, if the new regulations where in place they could have reduced that to only 21 cancellations.
Engine manufacturers carried out essential work, and they’ve now managed to double the amount of ash the engines can safely take.
It’s thought to be especially positive news for holiday makers getting off the Island for connecting flights in Liverpool, Manchester or Gatwick, currently Flybe serve over 10 routes on and off the Island.
As the first airline to carry out the essential work they will be able to enter the new ash zone from midday today.
