Flybe collapse - patient transfer advice

Advice has been issued for those using the patient transfer service following the collapse of Flybe this morning.

- THOSE GOING TO OR FROM THE UK ON OR BEFORE MARCH 9

Those travelling to and/or from the UK on or before next Monday (March 9) who were due to use the airline are advised to book or re-book their journey and the Department will then reimburse you if you can show your receipts.

Anyone who takes this option may travel by sea or air depending on availability of services.

The Department will also cover accommodation costs of up to £50 per person per night if you have to stay overnight as part of the journey - again receipts must be sent to the Patient Transfer Office.

Anyone having difficulty with bookings are asked to contact patient.transfers@gov.im or ring 642 673 - officials say lines are expected to be very busy and are apologising in advance if anyone has longer than usual waits to be connected.

- THOSE TRAVELLING BETWEEN MARCH 10 AND MARCH 16

The Department says it will issue an update in the next 24 hours and is asking people due to travel during that period NOT to contact the Patient Transfer Office just yet

This is while staff can assist those needing travel in the next few days
