A fisherman who has walked free from court after prosecutors dropped drug-smuggling charges against him.
26 year old Liam Anthony Lewis of Sulby Glen appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He’d been charged with producing and being concerned in supplying 15.5 kilos of cannabis and 98 cannabis vapes worth more than £300,000 on November 17.
However, prosecutor Barry Swain said he accepted Mr Lewis hadn’t been involved in the plot after two other men pleaded guilty to drugs charges.
He offered no evidence, saying Mr Lewis had been “in the wrong place at the wrong time”.
Magistrates marked the charges as dismissed and awarded defence costs of £1,167.
