Fisherman left out of pocket after gear is stolen

Thieves have left a Port St Mary fisherman 'heavily out of pocket' after stealing commercial fishing gear.

A large quantity of equipment - including dredges and bellies made by 'John Reed Islay' and nets and swivels - was taken from a site near to the Yacht Club.

Officers say it happened in the last few weeks - it's the second time this year the area has been targeted.

They're asking anyone who's approached with the items to contact them at Castletown Police Station warning the offender will be 'dealt with robustly'.
