First Real Ale Festival a success

This weekend’s Isle of Man’s first Real Ale Festival was so successful it ran out of beer.

The event, which was organised by CAMRA, took place between Thursday and Saturday and attracted more than 1,500 people who drank over 4,500 pints of beer and 800 pints of cider.

The Island’s Lieutenant Governor, Adam Wood, opened the festival by pouring the first pint of Bushy’s Golden Ale which was brewed to mark the 50th anniversary of the TT Marshal's Association.

Organisers say they are now considering making the festival an annual event.
