The first Manx film produced in collaboration with Pinewood Shepperton studios is set to start filming.
Political member for the Department of Economic Development Laurence Skelly says as the first project with Pinewood, the movie marks the beginning of an exciting future for the Island’s film industry.
‘Belle’ is a period drama directed by BAFTA award winner Amma Asante.
The cast includes big names such as Tom Wilkinson, Miranda Richardson, Matthew Goode, Penelope Wilton and Emily Watson.
The screenplay’s inspired by a 1779 painting of Dido Elizabeth Belle, and her life story.
Mr Skelly says over the production period, the cast and crew will generate around £1million into the economy.
