Port St Mary's lifeboat coxswain was called into action for the first time at the weekend.
The volunteer crew were called out just before 8pm on Sunday, May 3 when a yacht got into difficulties around a mile from the Calf of Man.
A broken gearbox meant the vessel had to be brought to Port St Mary under tow.
The launch marked Coxswain Rob Marshall's first shout in the role.
