Emergency services were mobilised this morning after a gorse fire broke out on land outside Peel.
Firefighters from Peel and Douglas were called to Staarvey Road just before 7.40am where flames had taken hold of heathland just next to the highway.
In an operation lasting around two hours, personnel used hose reels and jets to extinguish the flames and stop them spreading any further.
The fire service is warning that there are increased risks of wildfires around the Island right now with the continued good weather meaning vegetation is incredibly dry in a lot of areas.
