Firefighters were called into action yesterday after hazardous vapours were released at an industrial unit in Ballasalla.
Two pumps from Castletown and the chemical incident and decontamination units attended the Element 6 offices at the Freeport just after 10.50am.
The alarm had been raised after a malfunction in the processing room which had resulted in a vapour cloud of sulphuric and nitric acids.
Station Officer Richard Harvey says there was no risk to the public and the incident was brought under control swiftly:
