Fire crews were called to the Braddan incinerator yesterday after an incident at the animal waste plant.
The incident on Richmond Hill happened shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday when staff reported the plant room was heavily smoke-logged.
Firefighters turned off the electrical supply, and cleared the room of smoke.
An investigation found a failed manifold at the back of the plant's boiler unit.
