The Island's Fire and Rescue Service has issued advice over ebikes and scooters.
It says you shouldn't charge the vehicles in bedrooms or blocking escape routes if a fire breaks out.
And you shouldn't cover chargers, overload sockets or charge batteries near anything that could catch light.
On Facebook, firefighters say you should unplug the machines once they're charged, follow the manufacturer's instructions and use approved batteries and chargers.
