The Fire and Rescue Service is reminding landlords to make sure properties meet legal requirements.
It says firefighters visited a block of flats in Douglas which didn't have a working fire alarm system, and found a number of regulation breaches.
In a post on Facebook, it says to the owner was prosecuted, and fined £6,750 after pleading guilty.
It's reminding people and companies that rent properties to stay within the law.
