A UK playwright and novelist has written about his less-than-ideal stay on the Island.
Tony Earnshaw says he spent a weekend on the Island, only to find out there was a bus strike, he couldn't hire a car and had arrived before the start of the train and tram season.
But he says he found Manx people to be very friendly and praised Douglas seafront.
In a post on his website, he also revealed he'd managed to write a short poem about his trip - you can read it via a link on our website.
