The Island's Fire Service was called out last night to reports of a barn fire, which turned out to be a false alarm.
When firefighters arrived at the scene last night, it was quickly determined to be plants 'burning off' on a farm.
The service says it only has 'limited resources' and attending false alarms like this could result in a delayed response to attending actual emergencies where they are needed.
Officers are asking anyone planning organised burns to call the Emergency Services Joint Control Room on 697327, so they're not sent out to a non-emergency situation.
