Crew Called to Kitchen Fire in Early Hours, Disaster Narrowly Averted
The Fire Safety Department have issued an important message to the Manx Public after disaster was narrowly averted yesterday in the early hours.
After being alerted by a member of the public, who smelt smoke coming from a property on Head Road Douglas, the Fire Crew managed to force entry into the building and extinguish a small fire in a ground kitchen.
It was started after a kettle switched on at the mains burnt out.
The message to the public is to ensure all electrical items should be switched off at the wall overnight.
