Following on From Near Catastrophe Over Weekend Fire Safety Team Issue Timely Reminders
The Fire Safety Team have been speaking to 3FM in an effort to get some hard hitting messages across to the Manx public.
Over the weekend they dealt with a fire on Head Road in Douglas started by a burnt out kettle, it's household appliances like this that they're saying must be switched off at the mains over night.
Whereas essential applicances like fridge freezers are fine to be left alone the majority of the other items should be switched off.
John Murtagh from the Fire Safety Team told us how anyone wanting to become more fire safety concious, can do so.
