The fire and rescue service came to the aid of a dog who found himself out of his depth.
Yesterday afternoon, August 28, crews helped boxer Reggie to safety after he got himself stuck at the bottom of a steep embankment on the River Douglas near the Nunnery.
One firefighter was lowered down on a line to reach him with tasty treats being used to persuade Reggie into a new animal rescue bag.
The piece of kit has now been named after him.
