Firefighters in Peel were called out this week following a chip pan fire at someone's home.
Teams went to the scene on Crown Street just before 8.45pm on Tuesday.
Using breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a fire blanket crews were able to extinguish the blaze and then ventilate the property.
The Fire Service is reminding people to never leaving cooking unattended and not to fill them more than a third full of oil.
