You’re urged to contact the OFT if you feel you’ve been targeted by a cold call scam.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning to local businesses to be wary after they were alerted to something that could possibly be a cold call scam.
They had received numerous reports from local businesses that they’d been offered the chance to purchase advertising space or donate money towards what has been described as a Fire related publication.
The service have stated that they are not currently producing any such publications, therefore the company making the offers have no links to them.
You’re reminded to never divulge personal or financial information during a cold call telephone conversation, and should request full details in writing before taking up any offer.
You’re urged to contact the OFT if you feel you’ve been targeted by a cold call scam.
