A thief from Port Erin has been fined £300 after stealing her neighbour's post and gifting it to her son.
55-year-old Heather Clugston, of Magherdonnagh, pinched a package containing an Armani watch valued at £127.
At Douglas Courthouse on Thursday Clugston admitted the theft which took place sometime between June 5th and July 30th.
Police began investigating after the neighbour became suspicious when her parcel didn't show and her neighbour's son started wearing a watch similar to the one she ordered.
When officers attended Clugston's address the son told them his mother had given the timepiece to him as a present.
In interview Clugston said she'd found the package, addressed to her neighbour, under her bed but couldn't account for it how it got there due to her heavy alcohol consumption.
Clugston's advocate told the court she was 'extremely embarrassed' at what she'd done.
