A Laxey woman has been hit in the pocket after spending 18 months ignoring an enforcement notice.
52-year-old Catriona Marie Sharkey, of The Paddocks, failed to remove commercial vehicles from land designated for residential use.
At Douglas Courthouse this week she pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the enforcement notice between October 2016 and January 2017.
Action against Sharkey was taken after neighbours complained that vehicles and machinery belonging to her business were left on the land near her home.
Despite being given three months to organise the removal of the items - which also included a portakabin and storage containers - Sharkey failed to act.
Sentencing her Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes said the items were ‘unsightly’ and caused ‘unpleasantness’ for her neighbours.
She fined her £7,500 and ordered her to pay prosecution costs of £125 - the site has now been cleared.
