A man arrested for his own safety after being found drunk and soaking on Peel Beach has been fined.
Callum Robert Mathieson-Nelson of Honna Road in Port Erin appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 27-year-old admitted being found drunk in a public place on September 7.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the hearing members of the public reported a naked man drunk in the sea at around 4.30pm.
When officers arrived, they found Mathieson-Nelson topless and obviously drunk - he told officers he'd fallen into the sea.
The court heard the care worker had since referred himself to Motiv8 for help after previous convictions for alcohol-related offences.
He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
