A Liverpool man who etched offensive graffiti into the bonnet of a woman's car in Douglas has been fined £600.
24-year-old Ben David Moss, of Litherland, scratched the word 'slag' into the Ford Focus on October 11th last year.
He also slashed all four tyres and bent the wing mirror backwards - causing £270 worth of damage - whilst it was parked on Robert Stevenson Close.
He was arrested after Scene of Crime Officers retrieved his palm print from the vehicle.
At Douglas Courthouse last week Moss's advocate told the court the complainant was a friend of his girlfriend and he had it into his head she'd been" encouraging his partner to see other men".
However he admitted it was "wholly inappropriate" behaviour describing it as "in-excusable".
Magistrates also ordered Moss to pay £270 in compensation, and £50 in costs, telling him "you can't go around damaging people's vehicles".
