A Douglas man has been fined after being caught on CCTV punching a nightclub reveller.
26-year-old Stephen Heasley lashed out at the man, a visiting footballer from England, in Sugar Sugar nightclub on February 6th.
The victim didn't make a complaint and Heasley left the venue - later that night police were called to the club to reports of a separate fight.
As part of their investigations officers seized the CCTV and when watching it back also saw Heasley lash out at the man.
At Douglas Courthouse this month he pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour on licensed premises - the court heard the man had been acting aggressively and Heasley had "got in first".
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined him £600 and banned him from licensed premises for one month - she also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50.
