Answering the phone to police whilst driving has cost a Douglas man £250.
39-year-old Michael Garczynski was pulled over on Albert Road in the capital on September 27th last year.
Officers on foot patrol had spotted he was on the phone - when they spoke to him he told them "I was on the phone to one of your mates".
At Douglas Courthouse last week Garczynski pleaded guilty to the offence - his advocate said the police were calling him about a theft he'd reported.
However he admitted he should have pulled over saying "it's fair to say, lesson learnt!"
Magistrates fined him and endorsed his license with four penalty points - they also ordered him to pay £50 in costs.
