The Island's surveillance commissioner says one intrusive episode was given the go-ahead in 2024.
Steven Coren's annual report for that year is due to be laid before Tynwald during its March sitting.
In it, he says the authorisation had been cancelled by the end of 2024 - intrusive surveillance usually involves bugging or monitoring someone at home or in their vehicle.
And he says 18 authorisations for directed surveillance were granted the same year.
