Ferry sailings called off in face of weather

The Steam Packet Company says two of its Ben-my-Chree sailings have been called off today in the face of bad weather.

Heavy rain and strong winds are expected in the Irish Sea, affecting two scheduled crossings today.

The company says the Douglas to Heysham trip leaving the Island at 8.45am has now been cancelled.

it also means the Ben's return voyage, due to leave Heysham at 2.15pm, is also off.
