Christian Mayers of Ashley Park in Onchan appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live videolink from prison.
He denies burgling a house in Anagh Coar on May 9 and has yet to plead to illegally possessing a firearm on the same date.
Mrs Hughes remanded the 44 year old in custody until he next appears during committal proceedings on July 7.
The prosecution also offered no evidence against his 18 year old son Jake Mayers of Close Ollay in Ramsey and a charge of burglary against him was dismissed.
