Farmer calls for sky lanterns to be banned

A local farmer is leading the campaign to ban sky lanterns after one of his cattle died.

Paul Faragher is arguing that the burnt out remnants pose a threat to livestock and are also a fire hazard.

He recently received the post-mortem results for a cow that had died under mysterious circumstances - they revealed the animal had eaten the wire component of one of the lanterns.

Paul says they are proving seriously problematic for farmers:
