Farm hoping to create year-round campsite

A temporary campsite in the West of the Island could become a destination all year round, if planners give approval.

Glebe Farm in Kirk Michael currently has permission to use its land as a camping location during the TT and MGP, but is now seeking a change of use to allow it to operate for up to twelve months of the year.

As part of the application, it wants to move a structure which could be used as a cafe and social area, create a hard-standing section with electrical hook-up points as well as build an undercover motorbike parking shelter.

Those behind the plans say the proposals, if granted, would be of 'great benefit to the Islands tourism and local business'.
