Extraordinary Tynwald sitting today

Brexit and the future of the Island's animal trade are key parts of todays extraordinary sitting of Tynwald.

The session was called for and approved last month with the aim ensuring legislation over the sale of animals and animal products is in place before Brexit on October 31.

Britain's departure from the EU will also be a key talking point today with a series of questions over its potential impact on the likes of food prices, fuel supplies and fishing in Manx waters.

An urgent question will also be put before the Chief Minister over the devastating floods which hit Laxey last week.

The court will convene this morning in Douglas from 10.30am.
