It would cost £58,000 to fully resurface the track leading to the Scarlett nature centre by hand.
That’s according to Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood, responding to a written question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
She explained machinery would normally be needed to resurface such a large area, but that's not possible due to the track’s width and nearby drop into the sea.
And because of its poor condition, potholes can’t just be filled - the surface would need re-covering with material at a cost of £12,000.
