Entrepreneurial students raise money for children's hospice

Students have raised almost £3,000 in memory of a teenager whose last wish went viral before she died earlier this year.

The Year 8 pupils from St Ninian's Lower School sold wristbands with the message 'you're a firework Sophie' printed on them in memory of Sophie Birtles.

The 13-year-old passed away at Rebecca House Hospice on June 8th after battling Juvenile Sandhoff Disease.

American popstar Katy Perry recorded the teenager a special video message after a social media campaign using the hashtag.

Rebecca House says the funds raised by the entrepreneurial students will support other children who use the facility.
