The Island's Infrastructure Minister says scrapping bring-banks for paper recycling is good for the environment, and will save government up to £50,000 a year.
This week in the House of Keys, Tim Crookall MHK faced questions about the end of the paper banks around the Island.
He said the in 2004 the banks received 1,200 tonnes - but last year that figure had fallen to less than 200 tonnes.
Mr Crookall said those factors had led to the decision:
