End 2 End bike race fills up within 10 days

The End 2 End bike race has already had its 1700 places allocated just ten days after entries began being taken.

Its popularity grows significantly each year, with 660 of the entrants making the journey from the UK.

The 75km race will once again be covered extensively by Sky Sports, whose coverage has been a major factor in it's flourishing popularity.

Organiser Steve Honeybone told 3FM that the main reason for the cap on entrants is due to the course and certain areas being too narrow to cope with large volumes of cyclists.

He said it's hoped that they can establish a two day event for future races.
