The fire and rescue service says it’s currently dealing with an unusual substance washed ashore at Garwick Beach.
The beach south of Laxey has been closed as a precaution this afternoon, Friday, December 26.
Firefighters say they’re working with the coastguard to identify the substance.
They’re asking the public to watch out for any other ‘unusual items’ being washed up along the east coast of the Island, and to report them to emergency services on 697327.
