The emergency services have launched their annual fireworks campaign in preparation for the November 5th festivities.
Operating under the slogan ‘Before They Explode – Follow the Code’ the agencies want to ensure the public know how to handle fireworks properly.
As it stands no one under 18 can buy fireworks legally, with over half of all firework related injuries sustained by children and teens.
Whilst the fire team spread the safety message the Office of Fair Trading is responsible for ensuring safe storage of the festive explosives in shops.
Retailers found to be not meeting the required guidelines will incur hefty fines and penalties.
