Electorate figure drops by just under 13,000

Just under 13,000 "registered electors" have been removed from the voting register.

In October last year there 59,703 people registered to vote - a figure that now stands at 47,000.

New forms were sent out to Manx residents at the start of the year - the results from which contributed to the first major system update in nine years.

It's part of efforts to tackle inaccurate figures from old information.

Electoral registration officer Della Fletcher says some of that has now been filtered out:
