The House of Keys will be officially dissolved today.
The current parliament will end, as current MHKs' terms of office end six weeks before the Island goes to the polls.
Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer will issue a writ to all deputy returning officers in the Island's 12 constituencies instructing them to hold an election.
Voting is due to take place on Thursday, September 24.
