Elderly Woman Thrown From Car Improving In Hospital

Police Appeal Following Crash

More details have emerged about this afternoon’s serious road traffic collision near the Castletown By-pass on Ballakaighen Road.

Two cars were involved, a blue Peugeot 106 and a silver Nissan Terrano.

The elderly female driver of the Peugeot was thrown out of her vehicle, she was taken to hospital, details of her condition are as yet unknown.

The male driving the Terrano was sustained unserious injuries and was treated at the side of the road.

The road re-opened at around 5pm after Police had cleared the scene.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident, to come forward.
